Road to Certification

TRUSTED LOCAL BUSINESS LISTINGS in 3 steps

Our search engine partners rely on our MapPin Certification process. Getting your business certified signals that your business listing can be trusted. As in the real world, trust goes a long way in local search, and is a win-win for your business and our partners.
Step 1

While subscribing your local business to MapPin, you will be asked for pertinent information, like business name, address, website, phone number, and hours of operation. Accuracy is vital. Be sure to enter the name of your company as it appears on any outside signage.

Step 2

Install MapPin for iOS or Android. After logging into MapPin, pin your business on the map by moving the red pin over the center of your location. This provides us with the precise lat/long of your business. Verify your business name, address, and phone number, and add additional details like floor number, etc. Lastly, go to the Certification tab where you will be asked to take various photos of your business. The photos will be of your storefront, outside signage, and an interior photo. We may request additional photos depending on your business category.

Step 3

Review all of your listing details in MapPin for accuracy and completeness. The review process takes about two business days on our end. Once completed, you will be notified and your listing will be distributed to our partners. If you have a claimed Google My Business listing, MapPin can update your listing and provide you with Google Insights through the app.
